600 denier ripstop waterproof poly outer shell with 200 gram poly fill. Breathable 210 lining. Double buckle front (large & extra large only, extra small, small and medium have one buckle), adjustable belly-wrap with "quick-grip" closures and cut out for tail. Shoulder gussets allow for freedom of movement. Measurements should be taken just like a horse blanket, from the center of the chest around to point of the hip, next to tail.

By botanicartphotoI was surprised that the coat I ordered was not like the photo. However, the quality is excellent. I am still waiting to hear from customer service to find out if I will be able to receive the coat that I ordered (the one in the photo to the right with cocoa instead of black.) The coat that I received has a very large neck opening. The coat actually begins well below my dog's base of the neck, leaving part of her back exposed. The coat seems to be the right size, because if it were larger, the buckle extend well past her chest. It's a quandry all right. I may have to try to find some kind of fabric to sew into the neck to warm it up for her. Is this perhaps a horse blanket that is cut down for dogs, but not really reshaped for different breeds? I am saddened that the coat is such a fit problem. I would think that Rod's would lead the way in dog coats that can be adjusted to fit any dog in the size range. Like I said, the coat that I received is a completely different color than any of the colors shown on the page above. And, it is not the coat that I ordered. The quality, however, is quite good.

By DebIt was exactly what I wanted except I ordered a small for a mini dashuand and I needed a exsmall but I thought an exsmall would be for a toy type dog.

By MelI ordered 2 last year and they have the buckle front closure. Love them!! I ordered 4 more this year and 2 came with the buckle and 2 with a new style cinch type closure.I don't like the new style. It looks to me like their paws could get caught in the new style. Maybe not, but jus tso you know...
